About the Artist
Elise grew up in Chatham County, NC. Since she was young, she has loved creating art and other
handicrafts. As someone who loves novelty, she has pursued learning multiple mediums,
including painting, block printing, jewelry making, baking, sewing, pottery, drawing, miniatures,
and floral design. She loves detailed work, and appreciates long evenings where she can zoom
in her focus on a piece she is creating.
Beyond art, Elise is a fan of cats, anime, travel, good food (especially sweets), Godzilla,
pickleball, and spending time with friends and family. She also loves podcasts and audiobooks,
and almost all her art is created while listening to one or the other, though occasionally she will
listen to music instead.
Professionally, Elise studied at Appalachian State University and double majored in Hospitality
and Tourism Management and Interior Design. She worked in event design, then mostly in
event management for private, public, corporate, and institutional events. Currently, she works
as the Event Coordinator at the Ackland Art Museum, where she loves to spend time in the
galleries and planning events with connections to the exhibitions.
